Visa Procedures
International students who are applying to Işık University or who have already registered at Işık University may need a valid visa to enter Türkiye for their education and residence permit processes. For some countries where there are visa exemptions, students can directly enter Türkiye without a visa and then apply for a student residence permit through our office after classes begin.
It is highly recommended that international students check their country's visa regime to Türkiye and complete their travel arrangements in a timely manner. You may visit this website for more information.
- Applying students may use their official acceptance letter when applying to a Turkish Embassy/Consulate/Visa Center near to their residence.
- Students who are already registered may use their Turkish Öğrenci Belgesi (Student Letter) which they can request on e-campus' document request page when applying for a visa.
If you would like us to prepare a Visa Support Letter for you, please share with us the following information:
- Your acceptance letter/Öğrenci Belgesi from e-campus.
- Your passport copy.
- The name of the consulate/embassy you are applying through, for example, TURKISH EMBASSY IN BEIRUT.
- The email address of the visa agency if you are applying through one.
Please note that the International Office will be able to prepare your visa support letter only if you send us all of the required information listed above.
Students hold the full responsibility of obtaining the visa and collecting the necessary documents.

IST AIRPORT TO MASLAK CAMPUS
Public Bus
- The bus station (HAVAIST and IETT) on the -2 floor can be reached with elevators and escalators, it is possible to buy tickets there. We recommend you to buy an Istanbulkart there.
- Airport express bus H-2 to metro station Şişli-Mecidiyeköy is currently the most economical from Istanbul Airport, the price is 20 TL with an Istanbulkart. The journey time is 35 minutes. After getting there you can change to metro line M2. Get off the metro at Atatürk Oto Sanayi station. Walk 10 mins (800m).
- Take HAVAIST buses (204 TL) which offer enough space for luggage at the bottom of the bus, İETT buses have limited space for baggage. Get off the bus at 4. Levent station and change to metro line M2. Get off the metro at Atatürk Oto Sanayi station. Walk 10 mins (800m).
Taxi
- Taxi cabs are available 24/7 (Işık üniversitesi maslak kampüsü Levent, Pınar maslak, Büyükdere Cd) will cost around 750 TL.
IST AIRPORT TO ŞİLE CAMPUS
- Airport express bus H-2 to metro station Şişli-Mecidiyeköy is currently the most economical from Istanbul Airport, the price is 20 TL with an Istanbulkart. The journey time is 35 minutes. After getting there, take the metrobus (20 TL) to the Söğütlüçeşme direction. Get off the metro at Altunizade station. Change to metro line M5 (10 TL). Get off the metro at Üsküdar station. Wait for 139 or 139A (117 TL) in front of the Şemsipaşa Mosque. Get off the bus at the Işık University bus station.
Alternative route
- Get off the metro at Madenler station. Wait for 139, 139A or 139T. Get off the bus at the Işık University bus station.
- Take HAVAIST buses to Kadıkoy (198 TL) which offer enough space for luggage at the bottom of the bus, İETT buses have limited space for baggage. Get off the bus at Kadıkoy Station and change to 12A (20 TL) bus. Get off the bus at Üskudar station. Wait for 139 or 139A in front of Şemsipasa Mosque. Get off the bus at the Işık University station.
Alternative route
- Take HAVAIST buses (198 TL) to Tepeüstü. Wait for the 139T bus. Get off the bus at the Işık University bus station.
Taxi
- Taxi cabs are available 24/7 (You can tell them the address as Işık Üniversitesi Şile kampüsü Şile/Istanbul). Will cost around 1.100 TL.
SABIHA GOKCEN AIRPORT TO THE MASLAK CAMPUS
Public Bus
Across the road from the exit of the arrival terminal of Sabiha Gokcen International Airport are various kiosks that sell Istanbul transport cards (İstanbulkart).
- Take the SG-2 bus (20 TL) to Levent. Then take the SRY16 bus (20 TL) to Fakulte. Walk 4 mins (280m).
Alternatively when you reach Levent (with SG-2) - Take the M2 metro (20 TL) to Itu-Ayazaga station. Then take the 29C bus (20 TL) to Sariyer Belediyesi. Walk 4 mins (260m).
Taxi
- Taxi cabs are available 24/7 (Işık üniversitesi Maslak kampüsü Levent, Pınar maslak, Büyükdere Cd) will cost around 1000 TL.
SABIHA GOKCEN AIRPORT TO SILE CAMPUS
Public Bus
Across the road from the exit of the arrival terminal of Sabiha Gokcen International Airport are various kiosks that sell Istanbul transport cards (İstanbulkart)
- Ride 131C to "Madenler"/"Cekmekoy Metro" station (20 TL) (same station on different sides of the road). Cross the street by using the pedestrian bridge. Wait for 139, 139A or 139T (49,80 TL). Get off the bus at the Işık University bus station.

The English Exams that we accept are TOEFL (IBT, CBT, PBT), PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English), and ÜDS/YDS/KPDS/YÖKDİL. Unfortunately, we do not accept SAT or IELTS. Please see the image below to see the minimum scores we accept for each exam.
If English is not the first/official language of the applicant's home country and if the student does not have one of the above English Proficiency Exam Certificates, then they must take the English Proficiency Exam we have available for registered students.

The English Prep year's tuition is the same as the Undergraduate Program's that the student is enrolled in. For example, a student enrolled in Psychology (English) which costs 3600 USD per year, will pay 3600 USD for the English Prep year.
The undergraduate tuition payments are made in a total of 3 installments. First, a 1000USD deposit payment is made to secure a spot for the student in their program and register them. After that payment, students need to make two payments, 1 before each term begins.
For example, for a student who is applying to an engineering program which costs 4800 USD annually, the student will make a 1000 USD deposit, which will be used for the student's Fall Semester tuition. So before the Fall Semester begins, the student will have to pay the remaining 1400 USD for the Fall Semester. Before the Winter Semester begins, the student will make a 2400 USD tuition payment. (1000+1400+2400)
If the student makes their first year tuition fee payment in full before August 30th, they will get 10% off their tuition fee for the 2023-24 year. So the total payment they will make will be 4320 USD rather than 4800 USD.
The last day to complete your registration and to join classes is October 4, 2024.
