EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
  • Students of the Vocational School where the medium of instruction is Turkish will achieve the minimum level of English necessary to find jobs in their field of graduation upon completion of this program.

 

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES
  • To master the basic vocabulary and grammar necessary to reach the A2 level according to the European Language Framework.
  • To develop language skills at the A2 level.

Developing students' reading/listening comprehension; written/spoken abilities towards 'Basic User' level defined as A1 level by the Common European Framework Criteria (CEF)

A balance of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and skills teaching is given through information- rich topics and texts. The tasks are designed to help students to feel a sense of progress while the number of situations they can communicate effectively increase.

The course provides students an opportunity to directly apply the skills they are learning and get immediate feedback to measure their progress. All assessment materials are scaled to increase the level of difficulty as the course progresses. The course objectives are assessed through assignments, quizzes, and a final exam.

Frequently Asked QuesƟons About ENGL1301, 1302 Courses

 

Yes. These courses are mandatory, but students may be exempted from one or both of
these courses based on the results of the "ExempƟon Exam" conducted at the beginning
of the academic year.

As courses of both semesters of the first year, these are compulsory courses.

This program develops students towards the A1 level in the first semester and towards
the A2 level in the second semester.
